I just starting reading this book by William Short. I think it just came out (at least in Canada) so I thought some of you might be interested. Often these special topic books seem to go out of print quickly.
Here's the web site for the book: http://www.williamrshort.com/vik_wpn/index.html
(apologies if this is a duplication, I could not find it on myArmoury).

I'll be picking that one up myself when I get a chance. Bill is walking text book on Norse culture and weapons. I'm lucky enough to live about 20 minutes away from the Higgins Armory Museum (just bought a membership recently) so I like to catch Bill and the other members of Hurstwic putting on their Viking combat demonstrations whenever I can. If you ever have a chance, I strongly recommend checking that out. Bill is a hell of a nice guy. I always like to chat with him after the demonstrations.

In rare fashion, I pre-ordered this book. It arrived about two weeks ago, and though I've not yet had a chance to read it (I've a very long queue), I've flipped through it and have high hopes. Bugger all knows I've been through the Hurstwic site from front to back at least a dozen times since I discovered it!
Say hi to Bill for me, some random Viking re-enactor Rather more seriously, I very much appreciate the work he's done and input that he's had on the hobby. It's been of great help over the years!
