Ben Potter Bladesmith

It's not that I would trade my lot
For any other man's,
Nor that I will be ashamed
Of my work torn hands-

For I have chosen the path I tread
Knowing it would be steep,
And I will take the joys thereof
And the consequences reap.

After seeing Ben's first staff, I contacted him to make one with a Norse theme and within a day he had come up with some drawings. This is what came out of that. Needless to say I am thrilled by Ben"s creation and will be using the staff in a couple of weeks. The making of this project was incredibly fast ( about three weeks) and Ben was terrific to deal with.
If anybody needs a knife or staff I highly recommend Ben.

Looks great! I like the carving of the face.

Next time, it would be perhaps better to carve the runes instead of burning them, and maybe not make them that "computer font" straight and neatly divided into words. Big Grin I know it's more readable that way, but I think it would look better if you would catch the feel of the runic inscriptions from archaeological finds - like these runic inscriptions from Bergen, found on small disposable sticks:

And then you have to paint them. Red. You know with what. Razz
