Greetings,
I have a sword blade that I am hoping to mount myself. However, I live in an apartment which limits my hilt making capabilities to cold working thin metals and working in wood. I am therefore looking for historical examples of hilts that are wood/metal hybrid construction. The blade itself is a semi historical (but not quite) double fullered longsword. The hilt will most likely be semi fantasy but I'd like to have at least a historical basis for the design.
Many thanks for any help you folks can give.
