|
|
Would like to express my thanks to Bill Grandy & Gene George and myArmoury for posting reviews on these MRL pieces.
It cleared up alot of questions I had about them. Only wish that MRL would have done a better job on reproducing these. Maybe in the future, they'll put more effort into them....still want a Schiavona....someday...and the MRL Type 2 is within my budget range for now.
Thanks again,
William

Yeah, the MRL type 2 looked really promising, which is why I took the gamble on it. I bought it with the intention of writing the review. (Because after all, I only buy swords for purely selfless reasons. )

Thanks Bill,
There's one for sale over on the SFI Classified board and the temptation is killin' me. I'm trying to save my funds to go the Atlanta Blade show. If someone doesn't buy it soon....I may go off the deep end.........

Well, now that I've done the review, I think I may sell mine as well. PM me if you're interested.

If viewed from any other angle than the one shown in the MRL catalogue, that type 2 schaivona is a remarkably ugly design. When it first appeared, I was somewhat tempted to buy it. I'm sure glad I didn't.

You know, that's kind of how I felt. I don't think it's necessarily remarkably ugly, but it certainly isn't anywhere near as attractive as the MRL photo angle appears.

Zing! Pow! Two MRL's shot down.
personally, I don't really like the MRL basket hilts. They seem to do alright when it comes to other styles, but I have always stayed away from the MRL basket hilts. (used to own an older Scottish Basket Hilt claymore).
How can there be a perfect sword when PEOPLE come in all shapes and sizes too?
