Here is a 19th century, probably British, Mameluke sword with beautiful presentation-quality gilt mounts and a velvet-covered scabbard. The horn grips with two lionshead rosettes on either side while the curved, plain, flat blade measures 26.5".
Gottfried, the swords are not mine. I simply took photos of them from various websites plus their descriptions for my reference.

Above is a very nice example of a rare and seldom encountered Austro-Hungarian National Guard Officer's Sword, Model 1837. It is mounted with a slightly-curved blade that measures 33 1/2 inches in length. The blade remains in nice condition and is well etched on either side which reads "Gregor Lindermeur", "Mit Gott für Recht und Freiheit" on one side and "Eunnerung an den 13.14 & 15. März 1848". It wears a large steel knuckleguard that frames a leather-wrapped hilt which all remains nice and tight with the twisted wire wrap securely in place. The metal scabbard also remains very nice and in good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 40 inches in length.
