Love the collection, especially the different basket-hilts. You have no idea how much I want your collection! Big Grin

Didn't realise you had a Soldat Nathan, I imagine it is very quick and a capable cutter.
I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, but that which it protects. (Faramir, The Two Towers)

Splendid collection Nathan, that's all I can say.

You do realize you have some if not the most beautifull reproductions of shiavona out there I'm sure Happy

8 years ago I held a genuine "shiavone" in an antique shop specialised in arms and armour in the village suisse (not far from the invalides in Paris (check their website: armesdantan.com). It was light as a feather and in splendid condition. I was fascinated but coudn't contemplate to spend 3000 euros on it. That type never left my mind since but these are complex swords to make, and I'm not thrilled by the production replicas currently out there. It's bare luck, but I just checked aux armes d'antan website and they happen to have a genuine one for sale right now, and nice high res pictures too here:

ps: I noticed the Valiant Armoury Mercenary Sword as disappeared from your line up (such mighty compagny must have have been intimidating indeed! Happy )

Cheers,

J

Good eye! The modified CASI Mercenary sword (not Valiant Armoury) and a few others just didn't make the photo. Hard to fit everything in. Also, I don't own the Doge, unfortunately... but it fit well into that photo across from the Machiavelli!
