Finally, my custom type Y viking sword arrived! It's absolutely gorgeously done. The blade is small but still has signifigant presence and it handles very nicely! The pommel and hilt are beautiful, with subtle details everywhere.
Stats:
OAL- 39inches
Blade- 32.7inches
PoB- 5.5inches
I don't know the exact weight as I don't have a scale but it feels good in the hand, somewhere just under 3 pounds. It swings with real authority! I've attached some pics. Questions and comments are welcome!

Welcome to the type Y club! I really like the shape of the pommel.

Speaking of shaping, the blade shape looks fantastic. |
Nathan-
The blade is really interesting. It has tons of distal taper. It kinda starts out thick, thicker than most, maybe 1/4 inch but tapers to about 2mm. It keeps the weight in the handle area and with the long grip (4.25inches) allows a lot more point control than I'm used to in a viking era sword. It also seems to make the follow through in a swing seem like it would be absolutely devastating! This is one I want to go hack up a shield wall with.....I would say it has "unique" handling characteristics! I've been waiting for this one for a while and it is worth it!
