I'm just wondering, does anyone know if the narrowed ricasso/base on swords like the Albion Svante or the AT Danish Two Hander is ever found on historical single-handed swords? (Or depicted as such on illustrations, etc.)

Update: I just noticed that this picture features a dagger with this kind of narrowed section. So, at least there's a suggestion it can be found on blades other then large two-handers.

(The text under the picture does state that the two swords flanking the Edward III are presumed to be fakes. It says nothing about the daggers, though.)
