Hi.
It took a while (well..couple of years), but now itīs done. I finally made a sheath for my seax. Not much to say..leather and brass, with copper rivets. I didnīt want the knife to hang horizontally... I think it feels more stabile a bit angled. The knife was hanging on my belt during the weekend, when we where having a midsummers party with my friends. The knife did itīs job just fine, and it was a great all-around utility knife...especially on a walk to the forest it came out to be quite handy, cutting branches and stuff to clear the way. So, an ancient nordic machete 
Oh, I almost forgot. I also "improved" the decorations on the handle as well. I couldnīt find the old topic with the seax pictures anymore, but not much has changed. I made the two grooves at both ends a bit deeper, and added those other fading grooves which go along the handle.

Great job on the sheath! I really like the copper rivets. Cool seax too! The spiral grooves look great.

Great job, it's great to see so many other forum members making things, it's what I think is the most fun part about collecting, and it also (to me) makes it ok that so many swords (and knives) don't come with a scabbard. Again truly inspiring work!

For Gary:
The leather is about 3-4mm thick tanned cowhide.
For Tim:
Yeah, itīs ok if a sword or a knife donīt come with a scabbard when you order/buy it from someone/somewhere else(although I myself prefer, if it does come with one). This seax instead was my own creation, and it was ment to "come" with a scabbard in the first place. It just took a while to finish the job.
It might be an interesting project to make a scabbard for a sword/knife that is made by someone else, and many people here have done so. I myself donīt own any bought swords (yet), only selfmade, and they all have scabbards also. Anyway, it would be a project to look forward to.

My favorite part of the whole project is the grip. Is it Micarta/ synthetic ivory?

The grip is made of moose shinbone. The tang is peened through the pommel plate, and the shinbone is filled with epoxy...so, it should be quite durable construction. The shinbone had a natural shape that fit perfectly to hand as a knife handle, and thus very little shaping was required.
I didnīt treat the bone in any particular way except boiling it clean and polishing, so it has, what one might call, its natural colors. It could have been whitened with hydrogen peroxide, and then it would have been shining white. In my opinion it fits this way to the rustic looking blade
