Hello...
At a Highland Games this weekend just past, a gentleman told me that he has a Scottish dirk marked "Sanderson - Wich" on the blade. He did not have it with him but I should get a look at it at another event on April 19. He said that the seller warranted to him that the dirk was at least 150 years old at the time it was purchased, for what that might be worth.
I have checked some of references and have located some WWI era British bayonets marked "Sanderson - Sheffield". I know that there were a lot of English firms making dirks for the Victorian Highland Regiments so it seems logical that this particular firm may have made some as well.
Does anyone have any information on dirks made by Sanderson - Sheffield?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Per Bezdek's Swords and Sword Makers of England and Scotland:
Sanderson Bros., Darnell Works, Darnell Road, Sheffield 1876-1899. Knife, bayonet, and sword maker.
Sanderson Bros. & Neubold, Newhall Road, Sheffield, 1900-1998. Knife, bayonet, and sword maker.

Thanks Jonathan...
I will take a good look at the dirk when I see it and photograph it as well. Probably one of those two companies was the manufacturer.
