I am just curious how the Valkyrja and Thegn handle and cut? Also can either sword be used with the hammer grip?

The short answer though, is that for the Thegn at least the hammer grip is not painful unlike with most other production Viking swords I have handled.

Hi J. Malick, I've had the opportunity to handle both of these swords, the Thegn a number of times and the Valkyrja just this past Saturday, yes you can use the hammer grip on both of these, the Thegn is a smaller and lighter sword than the Valkyrja, the latter of which has a lot of blade presence but is not at all cumbersome in any way shape or form, in fact it handles beautifully and feels light to me. In my own opinion, the Valkyrja is the best double edged Viking Sword ever produced by Albion, I am an owner of the Berserkr, of which I would never part with for any reason!
Obviously with the Berserkr it's not really functional with the hammer grip but it's Wonderful with the handshake grip and WOW! What a cutter it is, but this is not about the Berserkr, this is about the Valkyrja and the Thegn.
As a matter of fact, I am going to be going back to Kult of Athena yet again, either Thursday (tomorrow) or Saturday and I will double check both of these swords again. The Thegn is a slimmer and lighter sword, the Valkyrja, well this is a sword to be reckoned with, not only is it's hilt a work of art, wow the blade, well there is a lot of blade, but it's light and lively, the Valkyrja is 15 ounces heavier at 2 pounds 15 ounces, while the Thegn is 2 pounds even.
Both of these swords are gorgeous though, there are no two ways about it, if you want a Viking Sword that has some allowance for a hammer grip, these two are the way to go, in my opinion.

Hi J. Malick, I will find that out for you on Saturday when I go to Kult of Athena, I will even bring my tape measurer, but as I remember it was a very comfortable grip. If I "could", I would have bought that sword last Saturday in a heartbeat!
