Hello everyone,

I am interested in the sheen/appearance of iron versus mild steel in sword hilts. Would the polished iron of the historical sword hilt look any different than the mild steel used in the quality reproductions of Albion, A&A, and the custom makers? Does polished Iron look more "gray" than mild steel or would the appearance between the metals be highly consistent? If there is any difference could one treat or make their mild steel hilts look more like the historical iron used?

Thanks,
Jeremy
