"New" stuff - at least, recently finished and/or photographed :

Double edged roundel dagger, all hand made in train pantograph skate steel, differential temper (it would show if you etch the blade), mild steel fittings, oak wood, brass inlays & rivets, fileworked handle edges ; scabbard is veg tanned leather all hand-worked and a bit seasoned, and mild steel end.




OAL 294 mm , blade 180 mm.


Next :
Still an historically-based dagger, inspired by things I saw in the MoL and the Musée Cluny in Paris :
A roundel dagger, big and pointy and sharp :
1075 steel for the blade (starting from a 40x6 mm bar), box wood and mild steel for the fittings. The roundels were hand-filed to shape, the grip hand-carved from a chunk of box wood that grew about a hundred years ago on the hills behind my Parent's house.
OAL 410 mm, for 300 mm of blade - max thickness of the latter being in the 7 mm range .
Not 100 % historical, but I know where the differences are

I've been asked to put a forget-me-not on the blade (etched) and the scabbard, and here's the result :
