An interesting pair of eaglehead pommel swords. More interesting is finding a pair together. The handles appear to have been replaced but are kind of priced accordingly. I have seen examples of this hilt in hand but never two at the same time.

Happy hunting. There are some other great eagles out there right now

PS

An additional reminder of the longevity in use these sometimes saw

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person

O====[::::::::::::::::::::::::::::>

Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Manning Imperial Greek Hoplite Xiphos, 24-inch blade:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Greek-Xiphos-Sword-Ma...0347366489

I cannot begin to tell you how tempted I am by this, but seeing as I already have one on order (due to be completed soon), it wouldn't make sense to get this now. Otherwise -- it would be mine. Lucky for you!
(ps. blade is described as stainless steel, I doubt that. I don't think they use stainless in their swords).
