Hello
Here`s some more pics of the hilt . It handles rather well.The heavy hilt balances well with the broadish backsword blade.
I`am very pleased with it:-)

It is based on the sword shown below. They changed it up a little, making it a half-basket/mortuary design. it looks great, but I would have preferred it if they had stuck a little closer to the original. They made that sword fast, didn't they

Here is my last sword. I would like to thank Patrick Kelly for the review on this and also the "Strength" I needed. To decide to forgo my morning Starbucks so I could pay for it.

Hmm... last sword that I purchased....well, I guess this would qualify:
Atrim sidesword blade with customized grip and guard by Christian Fletcher.
Prior to that was the AT1518 bastard sword, also customized by Christian Fletcher with new grip, pommel work and scabbard.

It is the Albion Vigil. A very nice sword if I do say myself that I was lucky enough to get when they first came out. I was influenced heavily when Patrick got his!

It's very nice.... I can see how the lines are clean and subtly curved, and the blade is a real beast! I'm very fond of more slender blades myself, but I can still appreciate a good blade when I see one.
edit: Where's this review of the Vigil? I can't find it on the reviews page...

there's not a formal review. It's an extensive post which also caused me to by a Vigil

Patrick,
You are correct about being better off without the caffeine. Though my wife said I was a bear until I got over the lack of said addiction. I do feel much without it though!

Isn't Patrick evil with that post. I wonder how many others were swayed by his informal review of the Vigil.

Patrick knows the drill. He's been here since before the beginning. It's all part of the overriding evil plan of the site. It's so evil, in fact, that he can't get himself to sway from that plan no matter how he tries! We're all doomed.

I admit to being one of these, although my mind was mostly made up by the time I read it. I don't regret it a bit, though. As impressive as it is on the first impression, it has grown on me even more since.

Some photos of the Volund Forge (Michael Pikula) Type IV I just received yesterday:

It's somewhat based on this double fullered type XIV, I believe, only a good deal smaller (if the dimensions in Records are accurate, the original sword is extraordiarily massive). It also bears some resemblance to type XXIs like Cesare Borgia's.

I was remiss in not complementing you on your nice swords. My very first sword is a Atrim 1423 blade with cutlery by Christian and I love it. I really like both of them though I am obviously the opposite of you and prefer nice wide cutters.

Yeah, that looks like a great buy and I would have been very tempted if I didn't already have my current available funds committed to a custom spear by Michael as well as just purchasing another of his spear heads.
How does it handle ? I already know from the pics that it looks good.
You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!

I second Jean's question about how the sword handles. How is the overall fit and finish if I may ask? It really looks like a nice piece. Tightly fitted with nicely done line and fullers.

Light. Light and Fast. It might not be the first thing you'd take against someone in armour, but it still feels plenty solid too.

Excellent, but not perfect. There are some small imperfections and asymmetries if you look real close, but nothing bothersome, or particularly unexpected in a handmade object. I'm 100% happy with it
