Here are some tournament pics of myself and my buddy Bernard doing some poleaxe and dagger. For the more historically inclined, forgive the track pants under the kit, I had forgotten my chausses and all my soft kit at home... I'm the one with the breastplate and klappvisor.
The whole thing is by Mercenary's tailor, with a few exceptions: The bascinet is by "atelier du heaume" in the Montreal area (St. Hyacinthe, I believe). The gaunts are by Lewis Moore. the jerkin is by myself, and is still missing the fauld plates that I want to put in (they're cut, just not installed). Riveted mail from historic enterprises, and the pourpoint is from revival clothing.
We do some poleaxe in the pics, then go to dagger. A pigface makes a great handle! :-) But I get pwned in the end, despite my wrenching of the visor and the elbow push to clear the dagger. Oh well.

Here's a costume harness I put together for a medieval fair. Definitely not without discrepancy, but generally attractive in a Hollywood sort of way. Working on putting together something more functional currently.

This is currently latest version of my mid eleventh century Lethgallian soft kit, as it was in the recent LIveArch event in Araishi lake-fort. It still lacks a couple of jewelry pieces, but overall it is getting near to completion. Event definitely won the award for the "most rainy event ever" - it was raining "cats and dogs" all day long, and yet again it proved that woolen clothing can keep you warm even in such conditions.

Thanks! It is definitely the centerpiece of my harness, and probably will always be.
I actually know someone who is in the queue to get the MkII version... be interesting to see what kinks get worked out in the second go-round. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like he will have it in time for WMAW this fall, where we plan on doing some armoured bouting.

The coat of arms belongs to Sir William De La Zouche, who married Eleanor De Clare after that pesky Hugh Despencer was safely out of the way.
I've attatched them with industrial strength magnets, not authentic I know, but they have to be quick release so I can fight with that helm in our tourneys.

Some pics from a recent demo (me and the same fellow who were in my first harness picture):
(the fellow in black actually has both swords after disarming me... wrestling and dagger to the rescue!)
(and here I actually think I bought it because I missed the opening for his neck and didn't clear his point well enough)
Admittedly, we both left off our maille because it was just too darned hot. I had the advantage of greater body protection, he had the advantage of greater mobility. Made for some interesting exchanges.
