FWIW, Tod sent me a package early last week and if DHL is correct, it’ll arrive today. Not bad all things considered.

Last week DHL took 3 whole days to deliver my latest shipment from Tod to California.
Can’t do much better than that.
Royal Mail, however, took 3 weeks to make the same trip just the weekend before. Most of that time according to the tracking info it sat in Heathrow.
Why then the worlds mine oyster
Which I with sword will open.

DHL have their own cargo planes (DHL Aviation) and delivery trucks, and have stitched up special deals to expedite their parcels through customs. They can circumvent all of the bottlenecks in the regular postal system.

Some progress on the preowned Albion, after one month and a day it reappeared and left the next facility, still in the same state.

And of course, after 65 days in limbo the Polish sword shows up in the Canada Post system the same day.
Would be ironic if they both arrive on my doorstep at the same time!

I ordered an antique medal-still relevant because it is a collectors item, albeit a small one-from the UK on April 26. It just got into the USPS tracking system last week. I still don't have it. Looks like delivery may be sometime this week. That is a really long time from the UK, based on previous experiences. Also, it was not stuck in customs due to any special value or something similar.

After 82 days, my Polish sword arrived. Apparently it spent about 2 months on the Atlantic, and the rest working its way across Eastern Canada.
Now waiting for the pre-owned Albion I purchased from Texas nearly two months ago. After a long rest stop in Chicago it just showed up at our local distribution centre last night, so it should be any day now.
On the up side, I'm getting the best gifts for Father's day ever.
