That pretty much sums up my thoughts on this sword as well. Amazingly, the only breakage that I have encountered on these swords was where the hilt meets the blade. If that happens, I would recomend NOT welding the tang back on. Instead, there is plenty of material in the shoulder of the blade, and I would grind or forge a new tang out of that. On the one that I broke, I hammered out a new tang from the shoulder of the blade and made a very nice short sword out of it.
