Later this week, my wife and I are hopping a plane to NYC to visit her sister. While there, we'll get to poke around the AMNH, the Met and such. Of course, the Cloisters are on my "must-see" list.
Anyone been there? Any reccomendations on what I should keep an eye out for? If they allow photography and the lighting is good enough, any special requests?

When I had family in NYC, I used to make a "pilgrimage" to the Cloisters every trip. It's one of my favorite places in the world. They do allow photography. I'd suggest trying to go sometime during the week, so there aren't as many people there (except school groups). Definitely see the Unicorn Tapestries, and I liked the Nine Heroes tapestry. As far as arms/armor goes, there's hardly anything there. Go to the Met for that (if you take the bus from the Cloisters, it'll stop right in front of the Met).
Enjoy your trip, and post pics when you get back!
