Can you direct me to an excellent custom-SABER manufacturer.
I would like to get a Replica of a 1802 or 1822 French-SABER.

Regards

Cristiano, I have some bad news:
Replicas of 1802 and 1822 French sabres you requested are quite hard to find even on the Internet.

I do not need a ready original Saber ... but a very Good Blacksmith that can make it for a decent price.
Do you know of anyone capable of making a perfect replica anew ?

Why not get one from the only French manufacturer still making the 1822 - Chevalier d'Auvergne - http://www.chevalierdauvergne.com - they make a standard 1822 and a Light Cavalry 1822.

I've bought from them in the past and, whilst their sabres are not cheap, they are good quality.

What do you intend using it for? I don't think the Chevalier d'Auvergne sabres would stand up to heavy work in the fencing salle.....but for display, drill or carrying on the reenactment field they would be fine.

There are the India made reproductions out there from several retailers and in varying qualities. The Weapon Edge variety seem to sell through a few sites worldwide such as

Stromlo Swords
http://www.stromloswords.com/french_swords.html

Military Heritage
http://www.militaryheritage.com/

Cold Steel
http://www.ltspecpro.com/

Depending on your location, there are other sites selling much the same goods in the UK and the European continent.

If price is no object, there are a couple of custom smiths that have tackled swords similar to these.

Cheers

Wow, more powerful and effective than an original. I am not sure you will have a lot of luck finding a super duper deluxe but if you want to talk sabres to a smith, Nielo was mentioned and he is posting an example of work in the makers and manufacturer section here.

Kevin Cashen has tackled military sabres. That is a long wait list if he is even taking orders.
www.cashenblades.com/

The guys at Falling Hammer aka Dragon Breath have done a nice military sabre
http://www.dragonsbreathforge.com/

The thing with those two though is the brass castings and branched guards.

Armart used to list a French cavalry sword but I don't know where they are at regarding fulfillment these days. Also Czech Republic
http://www.armart.antiquanova.com/index.htm

Really though, expecting a recreation to go above and beyond the capabilities of an original is kind of hard to expect, except for possibly more refined steel treatments.

There are an abundance of later 19th century and early 20th century sword that are quite sound and capable. Why on earth then is it necessary to re-invent the world?

Cheers
