So I am getting my Holiday Wishlist together, and high in my list is a buckler.

What are the recommendations for a decently large person looking to work on his I-33 forms and eventually some of the Renaissance stuff. GDFB has a pretty large selection on Kult of Athena, but what in particular should I be looking for?

Thanks for the help.

I have a buckler made by Allen Senefelder and really like it. I would recomend his work over any of the mass produced stuff like GDFB, not that what they make isn't good. I always choose small craftsman over large company when I can and the wallet allows it.

Thank you Matt.

So I am guessing that overall, there's really not a lot to think of with a buckler?

Pick one and go?

There's a bit more than that, Ben ... weight, gauge, diameter, type of handle design, form, edging ... spend some time doing searches here - there are some good threads that will give you a lot of useful information.

Beyond that, I can also recommend Alan's bucklers - and he had some available recently.
