Just wanted to drop a quick note about Allan and Merc tailor.
I am un-retiring from jousting and had given some of my armour away to my former squire. Well, I am jousting at the end of the month and needed some armour very quickly.
Ordered a custom-size gorget and greaves from Allan less than two weeks ago. They arrived yesterday!
The greaves, which are off the peg, fit like custom and the gorget   is "dead sexy" with a double pin closure on the top lame that keeps the gorget from pinching the neck (if you suddenly find yourself leaving your 17+hh horse and meeting the ground very quickly ;) ).
Once again, Allan's work is not only top notch - but his customer service is the best that I have ever experienced (in more than 25 years of jousting and live steel fighting).
Allan - You Da' Man!

Awesome Lloyd!
Bring the gorget to Janesville I'd love to see it. I can't wait till Allan gets a couple things cleared off his list so I can talk down and dirty with him about getting a new gorget for myself!

I have to third this opinion - every single time I've had to deal with Allan and Mercenary's Tailor, the service has been exemplary. Cheers, Alan!

I'll add a " fourth " to that: All deliveries on time as promised and any problems resolved above & beyond any normal expectations of good service and into " Legendary " levels of service.
Lets see: E-mails answered promptly, delivery times estimates accurate, deliveries on time, little extras sent free ( needed some extra leather strapping for some size issues and I didn't want to send the product back for modification ).
Hopefully not raising expectations to superhuman levels that will be impossible to meet. ;) But I mean the above 100%
You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!

Hi everyone, my first time posting. I have to add a "fifth" . Last year I got a Persian helmet ( Indian made I believe) and the mail aventail that came with it needed replacing. Not only did Merc's. Tailor fit a new mail aventail to the helm, but he also added a period correct liner for it. Great Job!!

I can only add my affirmation to the above replies. Allan does a great job, and does it in a VERY reasonable time-frame. None of this waiting for months and months for a job: he gets the order in, and then gets the finished product out the door in a remarkably short time. And the product itself is well worth every penny. He doesn't advertise it as anything other than it is: munitions-grade armour that is serviceable, has the proper lines of historical armours, and looks dandy. Nothing fancy, just good, serviceable armour at a reasonable price, in a reasonable (i.e. FAST) time frame. Works for me!
Cheers!

I agree with the above posts. I've bought several items from MT and Allan presents a level of customer service that goes beyond any expectations I previously held.
