I'd like to extend a "Well Done!" to everyone who participated in this contest. Everyone showed a lot of creativity in their choices. I learned a few things just from reading through the winning names.

If only I had sent in my entries sooner! I also suggested "The Poitiers" for the Type XV, but alas too late. Congratulations to all the winners! I think Albion's got some great names for their new swords. My favorite names of this group: The Allectus, The Decurio, The Hospitallar, and The Poitiers.
Howy, when do you think you'll have them priced and available for reservation? I will be reserving the Bayeaux for certain. Anything more you can say about the SoSM at this point as well?
Regards,

There are some great names. Obviously I was hoping to come up with about 13 winners but I guess they can't give all the prizes to one person.
Still, I'm very pleased with a win and an honourable mention.

haha, ten winners was what I hoped for, Vincent - but I am completely stoked about an "honourable mention"! Should form a club...
Many thanks to Albion! A great new line up of swords, and a heckuva lot of fun thinking up names!

Hey guys, I can't find the contest rules on the Albion site anymore, so I've got a question.
Was the gift certificate good for any Albion sword or just the next gens?
Just curious, as $100 goes a lot farther toward a $300 suire line sword than it does a $980 next gen.

Thanks again Albion - a fun contest, a chance to help, and a little history lesson all in one!

I WON!!!
(what an undignified way to begin my first post over here...)
Seriously, though, a BIG thanks to Albion. I've been salivating over the NGs for a long time, and it finally looks like one will soon be mine. Congratulations to all the winners- it's truly humbling to be selected among such a dedicated and knowledgeable group of folks, and for Albion to trust such a fundamental aspect of their business to their customers (future customer, in my case).

Cool!
I won, too!
If only I had submitted my pick for the ring hilt in English, I would have had two...went with the Gaelic tho....
It now IS a big question of what to spend the $$ on. What a nice dilemma to have
Thanks Albion folkses!

WOO HOO! I found myself doing some research for every name I submitted. Thanks to all of the folks at Albion for a fun and educational contest.

I liked mine (obviously, since I submitted it ): the Crown Prince. As an off-shoot of the Sovereign, that makes it next in line to the throne. |
Hey... don't make fun of my winning entry! It's mine and I'm proud of it.

would it be out of line for the participants to post all of the sword names they picked so we can see what some of the other possible names were?

Vincent, I don't think it would be "out of line," but what's the point? Albion picked the winners and I think by and large they got the best ones.
Except "The Sheriff."

I'd just be interested to what some of the other picks were. The ones that were chosen were very invormative, and I, like some others have mentioned, learned a bit from the winners, and from the research I did to pick the names.

Albion gave out more than $2000.00 in gift certificates.
I enjoyed the contest very much, especially since one of my entries was chosen, plus an honorable mention. Whenever I was getting stressed out at work, I would send my mind out into outer space and see if I could come up with another name. My favorite was "The Hauteville" for sword number 8, commemorating the Norman family who conquered Southern Italy and Sicily during the 11th and !2th centuries.
