|
|
Hello,
Here's a question for you fine folk...
If you have an Albion First Generation sword in your collection, would you look to sell it to buy a Next Generation replacement? Of course, not every First Gen has a Next Gen counterpart, but the question stands.
Also, would you sell your First Gen sword for a Mark II upgraded sword? As evidenced with the Crecy Mark II, notable improvements have been made to the First Gen design to bring it more in line with the Next Gens. Would you sell... say... your First Gen Hastings X for a Hastings X Mark II?
Just curious
The sword is my companion.

In a word, yes.
I once owned the Crecy and the Acre. While at Albion last September I handled one of the blades for the Crecy Mk.II. There are subtle changes in the blades geometry that are apparent when the sword is in hand, but these changes aren't so evident in photos. These changes really improve the design. If I still had my original Crecy I would have sold it in order to purchase the Mk. II.

Short answer is no, I will keep my first gen swords. The only reason I would sell a sword is if it no longer pleased me to own it. I am no longer young enough or broke enough to consider selling a sword to get enough cash to buy a different sword.
