Evening all my name is Bill and I am hoping you people can help me out a lot !! looking for all info on a French m-1822 cav, sword mfg at chatellerault armory in july 1883.looking for the description ok all the various poincons used on the sword and also the other number markings on the blade under the leather buffer and on the scabbard . thanks for any help you can give me. bill p.s I am a me member of sword forum and seem like I cant get much info out of them one guy says a lot of the info is copyrighted so cant be copied I am sure this could help me out there are even pictures I posted on that site for help !!! seems like I am against a wall trying to get this info thanks for any an all help you can give me bill. the pictures of this sword are on the second page of sword forum

Hi Bill

Welcome aboard.

Virtually all the poincons you have shared for your sword have been ided. It seems that only the numbers are left to be further explained but if you go back to the original thread, there are some consideration and responses with information.

In yet a third thread, there is the confusion that you have ided the sword as an 1882, when the sword in case is an 1822 that was straightened and marked to 1883.
