Does anyone know where I could get a HT viking bare blade? KoA is out at the moment and there's a little project I want to get started on. I'd also be interested in sources for other geibig type 2-4 or type x bare blades.

Best,

Ian

Haha, yep pretty much. I got rid of one Viking, then the next day I found some Suontaka sword furniture I really want to use, but no blade! I've still got the Norman, but the blade isn't as wide as the HT Viking :( Even the Albion type X isn't as wide. I also need to get a multi-fullered blade for a kragehul project, but I'm sure that will need to be a custom commission.

EDIT: Actually, I think I will use the Norman blade. It follows the taper of the original more closely.

Can you post a link to the suontaka furniture? I'd be very interested to see it!

Our own JE Sarge made a sword with them not long ago:

Mark,

Don't worry, I haven't touched the Norman yet. I'm a procrastinator, so it will probably be some time before I actually do anything.

When Sarge put that sword together he found that the fittings were 20% smaller than they should be. Did they ever make them bigger?

I doubt it since he only did it a few months ago. I'll let you know when I get mine in. That's one of the reasons I decided to go with the narrower Norman blade vs the wider Viking one.
