Hi guys,
looking for some nice pictures of Migartion period shields that are found in the ´Germanic´ lands.
Does anybody know anything about colours, shapes and colours? Especially colour designs... Want to make some round shields that fit in the 4th/5th century AD for some Frisian Germanics.. But don't have much inspiration on the colour and the pattern.
-Especially note David Huggins link at the bottom of the thread."The Dwarf sees farther than the Giant when he has the giant's shoulder to mount on" -Coleridge

This is one from the National Museum in Copenhagen, IIRC within the period you're looking for, or slightly earler:
Thanks for posting the shields. I don't think I have seen those before. Any info on the construction? Very curious about that rim.www.viking-shield.com
