Congrats on a beauty of a sword James. I still can't put my Jarl down
Would you consider doing a full blown review for us? It would be a good addition for the Reviews section.
Nice shield too.

Hello James,
Congratulations on the fine aquistion. Your shield appears to be a Mercanerys tailor. What kind of paint did you use on that? Thanks, Jeremy

Nice shield too. | Thanks Patrick, I know what you mean, I can't stop looking at this sword. Its funny how two contemporary swords( the Jarl and Huscarl) can be so alike, typeX blades Type S variant hilts, and yet be so different. The Jarl (to me) is a very elegent weapon, with very refined lines, "kingly" if you will. The huskarl is very "in your face" "my lobed pommel is the biggest " type sword. I would be honored to do a full review.

Thanks, Jeremy | Thanks Jeremy, actualy I built her from scratch, 1/4 pine boards, faced with 2 layers of linen front and back with a rawhide rim sewn on. Oak grip,The boss is from The Jelling Dragon(6 years ago).I painted it with sherman williams interior latex (very authentic) and artist oils.

Congrats on a beautiful sword there, James! I'd have a hard time putting one of those down myself. It's a real beauty.

Thanks James, a review would be outstanding.
I know what you mean about the Jarl and the Huscarl. That's exactly the impression I had of the two. "In your face" is a perfect way to describe the Huscarl. The Witham Viking sword in the British Museum has always been one of my favorites of the type. Naturally when Albion announced the Jarl I was pretty excited. I have to say that they did an excellent job on this one. It may be my favorite Albion to date. The Hersir is catching my intrest also.
Could you post a pic of the grip on your shield? I have a viking shield from Viking Shield.com that I'd like to redo the grip on, and I'd like to see how you did yours.
