I have no idea how long this has been up on their page, but I just noticed that Albion has introduced three new sword displays. They all look fantastic and are far more reasonably priced than some of their previous offerings. I'm especially drawn to the PoB stands -- very unique! Kudos to Albion to coming up with an artful and different (not to mention less expensive!) method for displaying one's swords. I’ll definitely be adding some of these to my next sword purchase!

Just in time, too. I am running out of space to hang swords on the wall, and could use some new ideas for table displays.

I like the new PoB displays from Albion. Just wonder if the partial contact with the wood wont discolor the blade that way,
in time.

The bottom one is actually one of Jody Samson's pieces. It is called the Curved Dagger. You can see it on http://www.jodysamson.com/news.htm about half way down the page.

I can understand why most people like the new Albion PoB displays, but I am still a bit worried
about partial discoloration of the blade by permanent contact with the wood and being shut from the
light. and that allways on the same spot! Only time will tell the results.

Hi Cor,
The wood is sealed, so discoloration will not be a problem. As far as discoloration from being shut from the light, that discoloration (which would take a very long time to occur) can be fixed with a scotch-brite pad and some mineral oil. The expectation behind these PoB displays is that they not be a "permanent" display in the sense of permanently mounted. Customers are suppose to take their swords off of the display from time-to-time for dusting and cleaning. We do use high carbon steel (and not stainless steel) in our blades, so regardless of what material is used for the display, a certain amount of periodic maintenance and cleaning is required. If this periodic maintenance is observed, it should prevent possible discoloration.

Mine come down off their displays a lot more often to be passed around and talked about, than just for cleaning. They get a quick rubdown whenever they are handled. Any form of display that allows easy access to the sword for such "show-and-tell" sessions is entirely welcome. POB displays are certainly superior to wall mounts, if your primary goal is to get the sword in hand and back again with the least amount of bother.

The PoB diasplay is a wonderful idea . It leafs all the attention to the sword. Cheers!

Doesn't have to be exactly the same spot, so long as the pob falls within the length of the slot, and with symmetrical swords you could always flip it over every time you handled it. I tend to do that with all my stuff to even out any loads on the blade (probably unnecessary, but it's no problem to do).
