I am the proud owner of a replica of a chinese style sword.
Can anybody help me by identifying it ?
The sword are ca 90 cm long, the blade ca 70 cm long.
Heres some pictures of the blade.

Dear Jessen,

Sorry for the late reply. I have been very busy writing my seond book that requires lots of research. Your replica sword is based on a Chinese yanmadao. Note that the blade remains almost straight. For comparisons please see the attached example of an antique yanmadao.

Heya, new member here, so bear with me if I mess up.

It looks like a Paul Chen/Hanwei reproduction, there is a photo here http://www.piecesofhistory.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=SH2074 of a link to the catalogue.

I noticed that your photo shows the tang being riveted through the top of the hilt, where as in the catalogue photo, it shows a ring on the top of the hilt, Has your sword been modified in any way?

I don't know who the maker is but unless my eyes decieve me in the second pic showing the forte of the blade the blade appears to be either pattern weld or damascus ( the "watery" effect of it is more obvious twords the top of the blade).

Mannoucher, you'r pic looks like one of pcay's ebay auctions ( i've bought several items from him over the years) from the photographic style.

I belive that is a Zheng-Wu Forge Qing Wang Dao http://www.zheng-wu.com, if you don't mind me asking where did you find it and how much did you pay? I am looking for one myself, and want to get an idea of price.

I have talked with the Zheng-Wu Forge and they have confirmed that it is one of thers blades.
