Can anybody direct me to other depictions or surviving examples of this weapon? The artist here is Memling (ca. 1480). I suspect that the guard would be an inverted version of the pommel plate, but that's just a wild guess. The scabbard suggests a double-edged blade of hexagonal section. Suggestions welcome.
