Hello people. I have an opportunity to buy this dagger for about $50. Is it worth it? How old it might be? Pre WW2 or post WW2? Military or other uses? Thanks in advance. Happy

Luka - I don't know about the details, but if it were me I'd plunk down the $50. I like the looks of it.

One sold on Ebay a year ago for a little more than that.

I would worry if the handle is plastic and not stag or bone. That it is listed as rostfrei (stainless), most definitely post war. The aluminum guards are really fragile. Much more so than white brass.

I think you should watch the auctions on daggers. You will see Linder daggers at less than $100 and the very well done Blackjack "Ace of Spades" with stag for around $30.

If you are intent on an earlier dagger like these, make sure the condition is impeccable, or cheap enough to at least salvage for the blade,

Cheers

GC
