A friend of mine decide to create a new association "Avalon Society". The main purpose of this association is to to purchase a ruined medieval castle or mansions somewhere in Europe that will become its permanent home and centre for mediaeval studies. The funds will come from the issue of shares based on the estimated opening value of the Societies assets. This will be governed by the price of the eventual property. Only Avalon Society members can become shareholders.

Here are some of the ideas I have for the future use of the castle and grounds...

Living history museum
Education program for schools and universities
Live role play training
Traditional craft apprenticeships
Hostelry and seminars

When I have more time I will elaborate on each of the above activities. If any of them is your area of expertise please feel free to contribute. If you have any ideas you would like to add please do so here :!/home.php?sk=group_...7&ap=1

in French here:!/home.php?sk=group_...3&ap=1
