Firstly, I apologise if this topic has already been done to death......
When I'm wearing my 17thC Pappenheimer, I carry it in a baldric. My 16thC Swept Hilt I wear in a rapier hanger around my waist. But my Side Sword, well, that's where I run out of ideas. Any suggestions for a 'typical' way of wearing a 'typical' side sword? Preferably with pics so I can get one made for me.
Thanks,
Julian
(Edit for misspelling pappenheimer - I should know better, I've got enough of 'em hanging on the wall!)

Either suspension is appropriate for early 17th c. but would likely be influenced by geography. Sutor shows complex-hilt c&t blades worn with belt and hanger in the early 17th c (in fact, he shows the scabbard and hanger in use as an offhand weapon). I've seen at least one German mounted harness with a field sword of this type in belt and hanger, so that's probably a safe way to go for a northern European impression.
