I was wondering if there was anyone who knows of some way to get training or practice in the Vancouver area of British Columbia. I am interested in learning medieval styles, especially german.

Have you looked into a salle called Academie Duello? They do Italian rapier, Italian longsword, and maybe other styles.

Chris:

I have to second Sean's suggestion. I met Devon Boorman, a principal instructor for the Academie Duello, last weekend when he was in Victoria for Sean Hayes' seminar on Fiore. Devon knows his stuff, and is a heck of a nice guy to boot.

In the same spirit, does anyone know who I could talk to about training near Edmonton, AB? I'm most interested in German styles, but I'd be equally interested in Italian styles. Any thoughts?

Since we are on the subject does anyone know a place where a beginner like me could learn historical fencing near Syracuse or Albany, thanks.

The Academy of European Swordsmanship studies German lineage swordplay, IRRC.

Johanus Haidner is a good scholar and pleasant fellow. I don't know much about their actual program though.

Seems I am having the same problem.

Does anyone know of a school for the sword near Eau Claire, WI? I can't spend the gas to drive to Madison, but am thinking that it might be the closest that I'll get to where I live.
