Hello,
can anybody help me with finding a digital image of the original Breastplate (see attached impressions) of Filippo Negroli's "dragon"-armor (1529-1535) for Guidobaldo II della Rovere (Duke of Urbino) ?
Together with a few other remaining parts, this Breastplate, fantastically decorated with bat-wings, is now in the collection of the Bargello National Museum of Florence, Italy, however unfortunately it is not (yet) in their public digital archives....

These are the only images that I have of this breastplate. I hope that they help.
I would strongly suggest , if you are interested in this armour, that you purchase a copy of 'Heroic Armour of the Renaissance', by Stuart W.Pyhrr and Jose Godoy. It is available from the Metropolitan Museum Bookshop for the ludicrously cheap price of $29 ! Probably via Amazon, used , even cheaper ! :eek: It has a whole section on this armour, together with pictures of the helmet in St.Petersberg, and the pauldrons as are shown in the last picture. I suspect that this image originally came from the book anyway, but I am not certain. There is also a picture of the inside of the breastplate in the book too! :)

Anyway, I hope that this helps a bit.
