Recently I had the opportunity to obtain United Cutlery's STING replica for peanuts because a company in my city that sold those went belly-up.
Made me happy because these are very expensive.
First impressions: big surprise - I've held all of UC's LotR swords and they may be pretty (I actually have Glamdring on my to-get-list) but they're stainless boat anchors.
Sting however actually feels like a sword small as it is (imo size means nothing...the best sword I ever held was about Sting's size).
Sad surprise: pretty as it looks from a distance the finish is totally unacceptable for swords geeks. Dismal machine-polish. Repolish is not an option because of the Elvish text.
Not a problem for me - after re-watching LotR with the little sword in my lap hehe I gifted it to a friend who's a LotR fan too. She TO-TAL-LY loves it.
Win-win. Pic (I hope it's not too big)
