I bought this sword off the forums a little less than a year ago. This is a "Windlass Damascus Viking Sword" with a customized scabbard by Shane Wright. This sword is really in good shape and is a pretty nice piece aethetically. The pommel is peened and tight, and there are no major pits or flaws on the hardware. This is a fairly blade heavy sword, with a POB somewhere close to 8" from the hilt. As a first sword I was very happy with it, however now I am looking to add another Albion piece and am in need of funds. This is a very nice looking sword with a lot of momentum in the cut, but it is not subtle or quick. The blade also displays a "damascus" pattern, which adds to the aesthetics and conversational value of the piece, IMHO.
The stats from MRL:
Overall-36"
Blade-31 3/8" long, 1 3/4" wide.
Wt.-2 lbs.
Can be seen in "Records Of The Medieval Sword" on pg. 83 by Ewart Oakeshott (see pg 4).
This sword is unsharpened as manufactured
