Up for sale is a Persian Kara Khorasan damascus blade/ Damascus quillon block Shamshir. Sword was made in Isfahan, Iran sometime around 1750-1800 AD. Damascus quillon block is chiseled and has a matching chiseled homogeneous steel pommel cap (uncommon to have original pommel cap). The elegant flower design can be seen in the photos. Grip scales are stag horn and has original silver wire wrap (has been professionally re-glued by restorer). Weapon has all original patinas/etching. Gold Koft-Gari remains on pommel cap, spine of handle, and quillon block. Cartouche still has a fair amount of [gold or copper] inlay and an approximate translation of it reads: "Oh, Judge of Needs". Blade is structurally pristine, showing only signs of surface corrosion in the form of "staining" (I can't think of a better way to describe it). Blade dimensions are completely original, never suffering a broken and re-ground tip.

P.S Random info for Persian weapons: Kara Khorasan translates as "Black Khorasan" , as in Black Khorasan Damascus. Totaly cool...
