This is a real antique, though hard to tell if it is 500 or 100 years old (I incline towards the younger age). When I bought it many years ago it was all covered with lumpy rust. I had cleaned it and wrapped the handle with twisted paper cord. Had used it in 'test cutting' a couple of times, and then just put it aside. It is a real beast, weighing 1.650kg (3-2/3 pounds), length is 41.5cm (16-1/3"). Condition is very good to age with overall dark patina. Forge shaping hammer marks evident, edge is full & sharp.
