Selling this great looking bascinet made for me by Maxim of Wild Armoury in order to have another made for me from springsteel.


The unique visor of the helm was based on illustrations found in numerous illuminated manuscripts including Fiore Dei Liberi's "Flower of Battle".

-The bascinet was originally created to fit an individual with a 23 and 1/4 inch head circumference (at the brow), which equates to what most would consider a size "Large".

-The bascinet dome and visor were constructed from 14 gauge mild steel.

-The helm features a handsome riveted brass coronet and vervelles for attaching an aventail.

-The inside of the helm features a fully sewn in liner and suspension system, though it is not visible in the photos.

-The visor can be removed via the hinge pins, and a simple button lock keeps the visor in place.
