It's time for me to part with my beloved Kern axe (forgive one last polearms pun). See photos and details in this thread (scroll down the page for full-length view and human scale):
http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t...ight=irish
This axe is no longer produced. My hafting is solid and as close as possible to the referenced illustrations. Though lightly antiqued, the head can easily be polished and the haft can be lightened by use of sandpaper. It's an impressive, and impressively agile, weapon. I'm selling primarily because I just added a new piece to my collection and need to keep things in balance. Plus, my polearms collection is getting a bit ungainly. So, I'm primarily interested in cash, but will consider the sword trades described below or others that fit my collecting interests.
CASH
I need USD $170 from this piece, but that price includes shipping in the CONUS. Payment by check is fine.
TRADE
Will consider certain even trades or trade/cash deals--I'll trade even for MRL's old German Hand and a Half sword or CASI (sharp) Mortuary Sword. I'd consider a cash/trade deal for certain Lutel Katzbalgers. My primary interest these days is 1500-1650, German and British, so if you'd like to have this axe and have something representing that period, make an offer.
