Hanwei Godfred, second generation, MINT condition
This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available

Hello everyone,
I have a wonderful viking sword, namely Hanwei Godfred. It is a second generation version, the one with proper heat treatment. Bought it brand new in 2012 or 2013 from CAS Iberia and it's been with me ever since. Used it for dry handling and occasional light cutting back in the days and it brought a lot of joy!

Here are the specs:

Overall: 34 3/4"
Blade Length: 28 3/4"
Handle Length: 5 3/4"
Weight: 2lb 7oz
Point of Balance: 4"
Point of Harmonics: 20"
Width at Guard: 1.87"
Width at Tip: 1.21"
Thickness at Guard: .22"
Thickness at Tip: .14"

However my focus changed and I haven't used it for a long time. Godfred is currently sitting at my sword rack, regularly oiled and admired, but nothing more. The blade is sharp (not paper cutting sharp, but finger cutting for sure), its polish is nice and even, bevels are straight, lines are crisp. The balance is good and it cuts well. Scabbard is nicely done and good looking too, wood covered with suede and has integrated belt hooks. Grip is done the same way and has a lot of friction, which is great for one handed swords. Guard and pommel are damascus steel (folded, right) and the blade is also damascus steel (pattern welded, to be precise). Pommel is threaded and tight as hell.

Overall, this sword is one of the best (if not the best) production level viking sword you can buy. My particular piece is in mint condition as seen from the pictures - no rust, dents, chips, looseness, rattle or shears anywhere. Both visually and functionaly, it will not disappoint even the strictest buyer.

For my Hanwei Godfred, I’m asking 540 Euro shipped in the European Union, which is a lot less than what I originally paid with overseas shipping, insurance and these ridiculous custom fees. It is a fair price IMO. I'm willing to ship overseas if no one from EU contacts me and the buyer covers the shipping difference.

Let's make it 510 Euro shipped in EU!

P.S. I'll ship overseas too, but the buyer should cover the difference in shipping price.
