This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available
I'm selling my Left Handed Kriegsmesser. This one is brand new from A&A and has never been used.
Stats are as follows:
Weight: 4 lbs, 11 ounces
Overall length: 51"
Blade length: 38"
Blade width: 2" at base, stays just about 2" the whole length of the blade
Grip length: 12 1/4"
Guard width: 13"
Point of Balance: 4 1/2" from the guard
This is a beast of a messer and a dedicated cutter. It has a single edge with a sharp false edge and is a weapon for someone who likes power behind their cuts. While two hands are not required to use this sword it is recommended as it is sluggish in one hand. However with two hands the messer really shines. The long handle acts like a lever allowing you to rotate the sword rather quickly for it's size. And it is rather large. It is bigger than Albion's Knecht or even A&A's German Bastard Sword but isn't quite as large as a dedicated two hander. However since the blade is so wide it seems bigger than it really is.
I'm asking $1,600.00 shipped to continental us. Plus freight everywhere else. Paypal is preferred but a check or money order would work. PM me if you are interested. Attachment: 111.59 KB

Note that this kriegsmesser is less than a month old and in perfect condition.
A little more information on the handling:
It is definitely a two handed weapon. Technically you could wield it with one hand but you wouldn’t want too. There is a lot of blade presence but it doesn't feel clunky or awkward with two hands. I believe that people who are use to an agile longsword would be surprised at how hefty this piece is. This is a large cutting sword and I suspect that it does this really well, though I haven't cut anything with it. I have also found that the grooved grip helps lock your hands in place. The ends of my fingers fit perfectly in the grove giving me a very secure grip on the messer.
