There are small spots of debris. It doesn't appear to be rust (I'm no expert), just gunk that has accumulated on/under the guard that can be removed. Pommel also looks crooked when viewed the top, hinting at lax quality control at Darksword if not intended. Click the photo at the top of the post to see it more clearly, and more here.
The original belt had two metal conchos, which I removed for aesthetic reasons. I will include them if I can find them. They can be reaffixed with a small screwdriver.
