Silver hilt smallsword. Purchased from Dale's in the Royal Opera Arcade as 1758 silver hilt small sword with English Makers marks. I can only find one hallmark myself, but the Dale's are about the most reputable in the business...
Hilt is near perfect (floral and music theme). Weapon is full sized and full of presence--not delicate at all. Would cheerfully parry a spadroon or even a bayonet! Blade has some patina and marks of use. As a fencer I can attest that these look like actual marks of use, not signs a child smacked it against a fence...
Near magical in the hand, as well. But.... I collect spadroons, not small swords, and I'd like to get a Brescia Spadona or similar top end longsword for cutting (and perhaps wearing). I'd consider trades (good armour, good longswords) or cash. $2500. Cash price not really negotiable as I can sell it on the collector market. Thanks for looking!
