The Art of Warfare In Western Europe (Verbruggen): Extremely detailed Boydell scholarly work on the 9th-14th c. Originally published in French in 1954, updated for this English edition in 1997. I bought it thinking it would cover my late medieval interests, but it's too early for me. Boydell books tend to be top-notch and expensive.
