Next Gen Mercenary - Oakeshott Type XVa - a nasty thruster, but also a surprisingly good cutter. This sword HAS been used for some soft-target cutting and forms work, and has some minor scratches on the hilt furniture and along the spine of the blade. The edge is, however, pristine. While this blade type is obviously oriented to the thrust, this piece cuts surprisingly well. It is still a diamond cross-section, which is less-forgiving than the lenticular blades such as found on the Reeve listed above. The grip on this sword is something between oxblood and magenta - a reddish brown. New, the piece retails at $800, plus $30 shipping in the CONUS. For this piece, given it's lightly used condition, I'll offer this up at a larger discount - $640, adding $20 to help cover shipping costs within the 48, or we can discuss shipping elsewhere. (That's better than a 20% break over retail.) I tried to get pics of the scratches, but they're a lot less apparent than I even recalled... A couple of scratches along the mid-rib that you can barely make out in the pics...
