This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available

As I've managed to acquire a second 1796 Saber, I would like to part with
this one. I'm asking for $ 200, we will discuss shipping and handling. I will
except a money-order or personal check ( with a personal check I will wait
for the check to clear before shipping the saber ). Prefer to ship in the USA.

Here is the url in the Historical Arms Talk Forum with plenty o'pics and info. I
am selling the blade as is, and I note this because it has developed a dark
spot on either side of the blade, on the edge, a few inches from the point. I
had planned on this being a user-sword, but never did use it to cut. This
saber is in rock-solid condition, other than the spot.

As my review suggests, this saber is a curiously nice package for the price ... It
could serve as a user sword for someone interested in the behavior of curved
blades, or even a nice addition to your re-enactment kit ...

Except for the mark along the edge near the tip, this saber is a tight and
neat package ... bump.

This saber is now available with a metal scabbard. I'll try to find a picture with the
metal scabbard.

A pic of the sword with its metal scabbard. And a couple pics showing the odd
discoloration / flaw near the point ( it is on both sides of the blade ) ... I tried using
flitz, thinking each was a surface flaw, but nothing doing. I think these marks are
IN the steel itself and perhaps can only be removed using a far more agressive
technique ( grinding ? etc ).

No, it isn't sold yet, BUT temporarily removed. I have currently
found a local craftsman who is working the " mark " out of the
blade. He tells me he will succeed, and when finished I will
mark this item available.

Another bump. This saber is back on the market.

A local metal smith substantially reduced the mark along either side of the
blade. Although there still appears to be a " mark " in the steel itself along
one side, it is far-less noticeable than before ...

Have I hade the money I wouldn't have hesitated a second to buy it. But I'm short on cash and have a wife and baby son to take care of... But it's still tempting. Would you consider shipping to Sweden?
