I have this fantastic shield mount created by master armorer Jeffey Hilderbrandt of Royal Oak Armoury, Jeff was my go to person for any non sword Anglo Saxon item I wanted. He made me numerous items and if you go to his site, several of my commissions are shown. He is so backed up, he isn’t taking commissions at present. Several years back I got this mount from him. It was mounted to a piece of wood and proudly displayed in my sword room. The attention to detail is amazing and you can see the numerous resin inlays and engraving. I’m not sure if it could be safely removed from the wooden plaque. Metal in 6.5 high. The entire item is 12 inches. It was valued much higher than my price when I acquired it.
